Rubber Lining Quality Tests
Prior to shipment, all rubber lined products fabricated by us will be subjected to a series of quality tests:
1. A complete check against all rubber lining details on customer prints is made to assure lining has been applied to the proper areas with the correct gauge stock.
2. General appearance is observed and noted.
3. Detection of trapped air is accomplished by holding a light near the surface and looking down the stock face for shadowed areas.
4. All laps are closely inspected for looseness and uniformity.
5. A high frequency spark tester is passed over the rubber lining in a sweeping, continuous stroke. A pinhole leak will be seen as a white or blue arc jumping from the spark tester wand through the lining to the metal. If a leak is detected, this area is marked and repaired prior to curing.
6. A second spark test is made after the cure is completed.
