Bittner Industries field service crews are available for any type repair jobs that may be needed. However, for simple repairs, FRP products can be welded or patched by your own personnel using the following.

Bittner Standard Welding Kit contains:
1. Complete instructions.
2. Pre-cut 24 oz. woven roving 1.5oz. fiberglass mat; 10 mil. surfacing veil (“C” Type Glass or Nexus as required).
3. Resin and catalyst.

In addition, you will need these: (You can purchase these materials locally or from Bittner).

1. 2 stiff pure bristle paint brushes, 2” preferably.
2. Metal “V” Grooved rollers.
3. Kraft paper to protect floor or work table while prewetting glass.
4. Paper or plastic mixing cups.
5. Paper or plastic mil/cc graduated cups for measuring catalyst.
6. Wooden stick for mixing resin.
7. Sanding equipment for abrading pipe or damaged area that has to be replaced (16 grit disks preferable).
8. Circular saw with a masonry blade or saber saw for cutting FRP.
9. Cleaning solvent - acetone or an emulsifier.

Safety Tips to Remember

1. Do your welding or patching in ventilated areas protected from inclement weather. Under no circumstances should smoking or an open flame be permitted in the area where the work is being done.
2. Safety glasses should be worn, especially during sanding.
3. Hands and all tools should be cleaned immediately upon completion of work.
4. Discard excess catalyzed resin immediately after use. You can store unmixed resin and catalyst in tightly-covered containers that are kept away form excessive heat.
